Pittston is a city in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States, it is situated between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. The city has a rich history and gained prominence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as an active anthracite coal mining city, drawing a large portion of its labor force from European immigrants. The city of Pittston is divided into three sections, the Downtown (in the center of the city), the Oregon Section (in the southern end), and the Junction (in the northern end). On Saturday May 23rd at 10am there will be a Memorial Day ceremony at Sam Micelli Park on Kennedy Boulevard to honor our service members. Veterans organizations and city officials will present a program and the public and media are invited.
