In celebration of the Independence Day Holiday all City of Pittston offices including the Department of Public Works will be closed on Tuesday July 4th. Due to the Holiday closing refuse and recycling collections will not be picked up in the City of Pittston on Tuesday July 4th. Tuesday’s regular refuse and recycling pick-up will be moved to Wednesday July 5th, Wednesday’s regular collection will be moved to Thursday July 6th and Thursday’s regular pick-up will be moved to Friday July 7th. Regularly scheduled pick-ups will resume on Monday July 10th for yard waste, refuse and recycling. Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy a safe Independence Day Holiday.
City Hall and the Street Department will be closed Monday, May 29th in honor of the Memorial Day holiday.
Join the City of Pittston on Saturday, April 8, 2017 for the Pittston City Easter Egg Hunt to take place at 1PM at Jefferson Park at New and Cornelia Streets in Pittston. Children up to age 12 are welcome so bring the kids for some Easter fun in Pittston. The Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Pittston City Fire Department and the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance.
Motorists and residents are advised of ongoing roadwork on South Main Street at East Frothingham. This is a city project to replace drains in the street along South Main Street to eliminate the long existing problem with ponding in the roadway near Underwood Lane during heavy rain. Please use caution when traveling through this area during the construction. Thank you.
